John Soane opened up his home to his students so they could understand the significance of the Grand Tour through Greek, Roman, and Egyptian influences.

  1. I like your image selection. They all relate well back to growing up as a traveler and what it means to be a tourist, in that remembering a country is all about the feelings it elicited while you were there.

  2. You chose really great paintings to highlight. I appreciate your ability to relate them all back to the theme. Also, you chose the same picture of the Soane as I did. Great minds think alike, or so they say.

  3. Nice pictures! You have a clear understanding of the paintings and you effectively explain the importance of the painting (or a certain museum who didn't let us take pictures) and relate them back to the novel.

  5. Great job Alexis! You really display a deeper understanding for the arts in this blog. Also nice picture selection. Relating back to the novel can sometimes be difficult but you make it look easy in this week's edition.
